Crib Gear
When I asked other pro's what they thought regarding my choosing audio software, their answers were all amazingly similar. If you want to be able to sell your studio to potential clients easily, go with Pro Tools because everyone knows the brand. If you want to sound the most analog possible, go with the German software from Steinberg. It's called Nuendo. A no brainer for me. Sonic quality at all times being my bottom line, and knowing that all the more successful DAW systems use the same fundamental file type (.wav), I realized that with a little talking I could show folks that Nuendo was absolutely compatible with ALL the major DAW software in the market place. These days I work with studios from all over the world. Sending and/or receiving files at the speed of the internet which for me is pretty darn quick!!
As my Cribworks Digital Audio Facebook page states:
"In it’s current (2024) incarnation, the Cribworks is a DAW facility and offers the latest in studio software to compliment a substantial collection of contemporary and vintage outboard gear all found in an environment of quiet, peaceful, creativity. The microphone inventory…tube, FET, and ribbon is astounding."
NEW ~ January 2024 ~ Matt Silaski designed...audio computer. 64 bit. (8) 3.2 gig dual core processors. 64 gig RAM. (2) 2 Terabyte SSD internal drives. (1)1Terabyte SSD Drive . 2 UAD 2 Quad cards and a UAD 2 Duo card. .
Matt is a master audio computer builder. In a test, at 24-96, a full compliment of tracks, and a ton of plug-in's, we were able to get this machine running up to about 15% CPU usage. Amazing. Knowing that I can record at higher resolutions...my default is 24-96...and then bring my work to a world class mastering facility/engineer (Jerry Tubb at Terra Nova Mastering), then dump to 1/2" analog and master from tape...again at 24-96...I am one seriously happy guy!
Anyway...
